The High Bullough Reservoir is a reservoir east of Chorley , in Lancashire , England . The reservoir was built in 1850 by John Frederic Bateman for the Chorley Waterworks Company . In 1856 the reservoir was taken over by the city of Liverpool when they took over the water supply from Chorley. The reservoir has an unnamed tributary on its northeast side. On its southwest side it is connected to the Anglezarke Reservoir .
