The Hikae Rock ( Japanese 控 え 岩 Hikae-iwa , Norwegian Bieknatten , each for 'side rocks ') is a 1.5 km long ledge on the Crown Prince Olav Coast in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises 1.5 km east of the Rakuda Glacier .
He was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962, and who also named him. The US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1968.
