Hilde Schneider (actress)

Hilde Schneider (born November 24, 1914 in Baden-Baden , † May 20, 1961 in Berlin ) was a German stage and film actress .

Life

Hilde Schneider initially took acting lessons at the municipal theater in her hometown. Soon she was not just playing supporting roles in popular classics . An offer from the capital made her move to Berlin. There she got access to the offspring of German film and already played a role in the film April, April in 1935 at the age of 21 . After that she was seen in a total of 14 films, including some leading roles, by 1941. In addition to the film business, she also had engagements at the city's stages, such as the Metropol Theater (today Komische Oper Berlin ) and the Theater im Admiralspalast (today Metropol Theater ), whose director Heinz Hentschke (1895-1970) she married. After the war she largely withdrew and was no longer artistically active.
