Hildegard Behr

Hildegard Behr (born September 20, 1905 in Kolberg , Pomerania Province , † February 7, 2000 in Zernien ) was a German writer , genealogist and local history researcher .

From 1925, Behr studied German and history at the University of Göttingen , the University of Marburg and the University of Greifswald . In 1937 in Greifswald, with a thesis on the poetry of Friedrich Rückert, she became a Dr. phil. PhD. In 1943 she was employed by the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda . Until 1945 she worked as a genealogist for state and church authorities.

After the Second World War she came to Lower Saxony and initially worked as a publishing employee, then in Lüneburg at the Northeast German Academy . In 1955 she moved to Northeim , and in 1968 to Zernien in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district .

Behr published local literature about her hometown Kolberg in Pomerania and Northeim in Lower Saxony .
