Hildegard Eppler

Hildegard Eppler (born April 25, 1898 in Holzheim near Göppingen ; † May 10, 1998 in Schwäbisch Hall ) was a German teacher and first city ​​councilor in Schwäbisch Hall.

Life

In 1920 Eppler married the school director Richard Eppler. She is the mother of seven children. One of them is Erhard Eppler , who as a SPD member was a member of the Bundestag and Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation . Her daughter Ilse married the conductor Wolfgang Gönnenwein .

Hildegard Eppler was a teacher by profession and from 1921 devoted herself to raising children. In 1948 she founded the general-benefit sales point in Schwäbisch Hall.

On January 28, 1951, she moved in for the FWV as the first woman in the municipal council of Schwäbisch Hall and was the only female member there until 1959. She set her priorities in the social and civic areas.

Honors

In her memory, she was honored in the exhibition “Women in Haller Municipal Council” on April 27, 2009.
