Hildur Andersen (born May 25, 1864 in Kristiania ; died December 20, 1956 there ) was a Norwegian pianist and music teacher .

Andersen was born in Christiania as the daughter of Oluf Martin Andersen and Annette Fredrikke Sontum and was a sister of the geographer Aksel Arstal .

She initially received her training from Maren Grieg ( Edvard Grieg's older sister ) and Johanne Retterager Thue. From 1882 she studied at the Leipzig Conservatory . She made her debut on October 23, 1886 with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra . In 1887 she went to Vienna for three years and took lessons from Theodor Leschetizky . As a chamber musician, often played in the following years with the string quartet of Gustav Lange . After her active career, she became a member of the program committee of the Osler Philharmonic. Hildur Andersen was also known for her teaching activities. She was close friends with the playwright Henrik Ibsen and is considered a role model for the character "Hilde Wangel" in Ibsen's play Baumeister Solness .

Andersen was honored with the King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 1924. She remained unmarried. She was buried on Vår Frelsers Gravlund .
