The Hindenburg Bridge is a girder bridge that spans the Alster in the Hamburg district of Alsterdorf in the course of Hindenburgstrasse between Brabandstrasse and Rathenaustrasse.

Description and history

The Hindenburg Bridge was built in 1913 according to plans by the architect Fritz Schumacher as part of his canalization and straightening of the Alster between Eppendorf and Ohlsdorf . In this context, the Alster received many of its characteristic bank walls and stairs that lead down to it. In addition, many bridges were built to cross it, including this bridge named after Paul von Hindenburg .

The Hindenburg Bridge is listed with the number 30795 as a cultural monument in the list of monuments of the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media .
