The Hinely Nunatak is a small, 1450 m high and largely isolated Nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 1.5 km northwest of the Graser-Nunatak and 26 km east of the Sky-Hi-Nunatakker .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1987 after John A. Hinely Jr. (* 1945), cartographer of the United States Geological Survey , who was involved in satellite surveys at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1976 .
