The ash-gray round- nosed bat ( Hipposideros cineraceus ) is a species of bat belonging to the genus of the Old World round-nosed bat , which occurs from Pakistan and India to Sumatra and Borneo and possibly Luzon in the Philippines . The Filipino subspecies H. c. wrighti ( Taylor , 1934) was sometimes assigned to the species H. ater , but it actually seems to be more closely related to the ash-gray round-leaf nose and is therefore listed as a subspecies. The ash-gray round-leaf nose is a small species (weight 3.7 to 4.9 grams) that looks very similar to the Pomona round-leaf nose ( H. pomona ), but is smaller and has shorter ears.
The table below shows the dimensions of H. cineraceus from different areas:

The ash-gray round-leaf nose is a very sociable species that can be found in large numbers at the preferred sleeping places. The reproduction is seasonal. The mating season is in October, with the young being born in April and being able to fly in June. The species presumably feeds on insects.
