Deer head fish

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Deer Head Fish is in the heraldry an emblem and is considered a mythical creature.

The representation consists of the composition of a part of the heraldic animal deer , here only the head with neck and a headless heraldic animal fish . The coloring is done according to the heraldic rule for the body in one color and the antlers and the fins can be colored differently as reinforcement .

Various names are accepted for the fish-tailed creature in heraldry, but they are correct for another heraldic animal from the realm of mythical creatures. The terms sea deer or deer fish is not synonymous with deer head fish , because in these chimeras the front part consists of the front part of the deer, i.e. more than the head and neck, and only the fish tail. Both heraldic animals have the rarity in the coat of arms.
