Hirschstein (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Von Hirschstein (Czech z Hirštejna also z Herštejna ) is the name of a noble family. The history of this noble family is confusing and only a few records have survived.

The first feudal man to bear the prefix of Hirschstein was Knight Protivec , brother of Vítel von Staňkov, owner of Starý Herštejn Castle in 1272 . The family left the domicile in 1328 . Chotěbor von Hirschstein acquired the castle Sukoslav von Boresch IV from Riesenburg and his sons Boreš and Slávek on December 19, 1333 . Zdenko von Hirschstein was first mentioned in a document in 1359 , who had already received Schüttwa and Pobiezowicz (later Ronsperg ) and Waltersgrün when he acquired Bischofteinitz . Buschek von Wilkenau also came from this family and acquired the office of judge for the Choden . Bohusch von Hirschstein , the last of the line, died in 1456 .
