General

As a member of the Muddy Waters Band and as a solo artist, Littele Walter was one of the architects of the Chicago Blue. He was the first harmonica player to electrically amplify his harmonica and thus generate a new sound. The album brings a cross-section of his work and contains his most famous songs ( Juke ), slow numbers ( Mean Old World ) and rock tracks ( Boom, Boom Out Goes the Light ). As with all titles in the Chess 50th Anniversary Collection, the album provides suitable examples for every stage of the career and is technically prepared. The album replaces the best compilation to date, "The Best of Little Walter", which was released in 1988. Ten of the twelve titles were also taken from her (except for Blue Light and You Better Watch Yourself ).
