The historic homes mountain road ( English Semi-Detached Houses ) form a building complex in the Namibian coastal town of Luderitz . They have been a National Monument of Namibia since January 6, 1986 .
The houses were built on a natural stone foundation with cement walls. The doors, floors and oval windows are made of wood. These were built by Hermann Metje .
