The historical cemetery Ümmingen in Ümmingen , Bochum , is worth seeing because of its old grave stelae from the 17th and 18th centuries . It is located on the Alte Ümminger Straße opposite the Ümminger See .

Originally there was a medieval church here, which was first mentioned in a document in 1310. The gentlemen from Haus Laer had the right to participate in the appointment of the preacher position and found their burial in the church. Querenburg was also part of the parish . The church was demolished in 1895 due to its disrepair. The association for local and local history founded in 1886 in the county of Mark in Witten took over the late medieval sculptures for its museum in 1895 .

The new Ümming church (it was not in the old Ümming cemetery) was demolished in 1975. The bells are now in the Protestant Michael Church in Langendreer, which was built in 1968.

The old tombstones made of Ruhr sandstone are decorated with different motifs. Skulls and bones remind us of transience, angel heads, grapes, Bible verses and pious sayings of the resurrection.
