history

Since the Middle Ages, Ümmingen was a parish , which also included Laer and Querenburg . The place appeared on all regional maps of the time.

Among other things, the owner of the nearby manor Haus Heven had a seat in the church in Ümmingen, the right to be buried in the church and the right to vote in filling the positions of preacher, school teacher or sexton .

Today there is no longer a Protestant parish in Ümmingen. The historic Ümmingen cemetery marks the former location of the church, which dates back to around 1310. The church was demolished in 1895 due to its disrepair. A newly built church was demolished in 1975.
