Günnigfeld is a district of Bochum . It is located in the north of the former town of Wattenscheid , now in the Wattenscheid district, and borders Gelsenkirchen and Herne.

Since Wattenscheid was incorporated on January 1, 1975, Günnigfeld has belonged to Bochum.
