Mike Sergio Terranova (born November 17, 1976 in Bochum - Wattenscheid ) is a former Italian soccer player and current soccer coach .

Career

Terranova played in the course of his career with SG Wattenscheid 09 , FC Gütersloh 2000 , Eintracht Nordhorn , Wuppertaler SV and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen mostly in the highest amateur leagues. In the 1998/99 season , Terranova completed 14 second division games for SG Wattenscheid under coach Franz-Josef Tenhagen , who had pulled him up from the reserve team to the professional squad, and was relegated with the club at the end of the season.

In the 2006/07 season he scored 22 goals this season for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the upper-level soccer league of North Rhine and thus had a share in the promotion to the Regionalliga Nord . His 17 goals in the Regionalliga Nord contributed to the march from the Oberliga to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2007/08 regional league season, he represented the injured team captain Benjamin Reichert .

From 2008 to 2011 Terranova played with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 14 goals in 88 games. After relegating to the 3rd soccer league in 2011 , he had to accept another relegation to the Regionalliga West with RWO 2012 . There he scored eight goals in 34 appearances in the 2012/13 season at the age of 37. After seven years at RWO, Terranova ended his active career in the summer of 2013 and switched to the coaching staff of the regional league team.

On August 15, 2016, Terranova took over the first team from Andreas Zimmermann as interim coach and became head coach after four games.
