Franz-Josef "Jupp" Tenhagen (born October 31, 1952 in Millingen , today a district of Rees ) is a former German football player and coach .
Player career
society
In the Bundesliga he played from 1971 to 1988 for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , Borussia Dortmund and VfL Bochum . He was active for Bochum for a total of twelve years. Tenhagen played as a defender 457 times in the Bundesliga and scored 25 goals.
National team
He came on three missions in the German national team , including in 1977 in the 1-1 friendly match against Brazil in the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in front of 160,000 spectators. An injury prevented his use at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.
Coaching
As a trainer, he looked after VfL Bochum, SG Wattenscheid 09 and LR Ahlen , with Wattenscheid (1997) and Ahlen (2000) he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . For a long time he was in the Oberliga Nordrhein for 1. FC Bocholt (1991–1996 and 2001–2007): Although he announced his resignation from the coaching office on March 7, 2007, he remained at the club as sports director. This engagement ended in the late summer of 2007. Tenhagen was fired for financial reasons. 1. FC Bocholt was relegated to the Niederrhein Association League after leaving Tenhagen .
Tenhagen now lives in Haldern , a district of Rees on the Lower Rhine ( Kleve district ) and runs a sports shop in the neighboring town of Emmerich on the Rhine and several national football schools. In the summer of 2008 he became the sporting director of the district league A club SC 26 Bocholt, where former Bundesliga player Harald Katemann worked as a trainer.
From the summer of 2009 Tenhagen took over the coaching position at the ambitious district league club SV Grieth (district of Kalkar ) and immediately made it to the regional league. He ended his engagement with the club on January 12, 2011.
