Hiltrop is a district of Bochum . It is located in the north of the city and borders on Herne .

history

Around the middle of the 18th century, the Hiltrop farmers were part of the Herne parish, mostly in the Strünkede court. Only three Berger Höfe were assigned to the judiciary of the Bochum office. On April 1, 1907 Hiltrop was incorporated into Gerthe . In the past there were large facilities of the Lorraine IV and Constantin X collieries . Because of this, many houses in Hiltrop are old miners' houses, so-called colliery houses.

The Bochum Volkspark is located in Hiltrop . This is where the Ostbach rises , the course of which has been renatured in recent years.

Sports

There are three football clubs in Hiltrop. On the one hand, BV Hiltrop, the DJK Hiltrop-Bergen, which also represents the neighboring district of Bergen, and the club Blau Weiß Grümerbaum, which was founded in Hiltrop-Grümerbaum, and initially had its soccer field here, but in due course the new one founded district sports facility "Am Nordbad" moved to Harpen , where he still plays today.

In addition, there has been the citizens' rifle club "Freischütz" Hiltrop 1912 eV since 1912
