Brenschede (Bochum)

Brenschede is a district of Bochum-Wiemelhausen . In the Middle Ages the moated castle Haus Brenschede was built, a fief of Limburg-Styrum . By 1800 22 Kotten had settled on the premises of the house. House Brenschede was destroyed in 1943. Mining emerged in the 17th century. The mines included Prince Kater , Old and New Disgust , Gottesglück , New Hope , Good Hope, Glücksburg , Julius Philipp and Eberhardine . The community rifle club Bochum-Brenschede 1797, the gymnastics club Bochum-Brenschede 1911 and the Brenscheder farmers club 1976.
