The New Hope colliery is a former coal mine in Sölderholz - Holzwickede . The mine was also known under the names Zeche Neuehoffnung , Zeche Neue Hoffnung 1 & 2 and Zeche Neue Hoffnung in Sölder Holz . It was located in Sölderholz in the administrative district of the Unna office.

Mining history

On December 2nd of the year 1767 the expectation for the field New Hope II was inserted. Even before the concession was granted, the Rappard Commissioner had built a tunnel and opened up several seams . On February 9, 1768, the concession for the mining of hard coal was granted. The license was granted by means of a rescript from Berlin. The field consisted of a treasure trove and 20 measures . An old shaft was then put back into operation. A tunnel was excavated south of today's Bodieckstrasse . In addition, the seam slate bank was eastbound in Verhieb taken. There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1771. On May 10th of this year, the Commissioner Rappard stated that he had received the loan but could no longer find it. According to Rappard, the legal fees were paid regularly. He also stated that the mine had already been measured . The mine was shut down around 1789. By 1818, the eastern continuation of the seam had been excavated by the construction of a tunnel under the name New Hope . On January 14th of the year 1848 the Geviertfeld Neue Hope II and on February 7th of the same year the Beilehn grievance was awarded. In the period from 23 to 30 August of the same year , the Längenfeld Hope and the Geviertfeld Neue Hope II consolidated with the Colliery Envy to the Colliery New Hope. In the period from August 10, 1854 to June 2, 1856, the New Hope colliery consolidated into the Margaretha colliery .

Current condition

In March 1997, a shaft was broken in a field in Holzwickede west of Landskroner Straße . This collapse can be traced back to the sagging of the backfill material of an old manhole. The shaft was refilled to secure the danger zone .
