The Alte Mißgunst colliery in Querenburg- Brenschede is a former hard coal mine . The mine was probably already in operation around 1600, as the tithe was already paid by the grandmother of Junker Wenemar von Melschede .

history

The operation is officially proven from 1632. The mine was in operation between 1647 and 1655 and was owned by Junker Wenemar von Melschede . In 1655 he refused to pay the tithe, but the mine continued to operate. The operation is documented for the years 1660 and 1662.

In 1745 the deposit was prepared by a sweeping tunnel from the valley of the Stiepeler Bach. The mouth hole was located 850 meters northwest of the later Glücksburger tunnel . The mines are located east of the tunnel, but it partially collapsed. After the tunnel had collapsed , a cross cut was made and three shafts were sunk . On 15 December 1750, took place investiture of the mine. The mine was in operation in 1754 and 1755. Because of the poor quality of coal, the mine was closed in 1766 and the tunnel fell into disrepair. The owner of the mine was assigned to the Glücksburg colliery.
