tasks and goals

The college serves to promote outstanding German and foreign scholars in the field of historical sciences. For this purpose, research grants are awarded for a period of one year. During this time, the scholarship holders are released from their university obligations so that they can concentrate on a larger research project and publish the results. During their research year, the fellows invite colleagues from Germany and abroad to a colloquium in which they present their scientific project and put it up for discussion. In addition, the scholarship holder has to give a public lecture from his work area. The results of the collogium and the public lecture are published in the writings of the historical college.
