Hit Clip was a music television program on WDR television that was moderated by Thomas Germann . Hit Clip ran Monday through Friday from 2:05 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. from 1993 to 1997 and was taken over by other third party programs . From 1995 the program was broadcast on the first . Five music video clips from all styles of pop music were shown, from metal to happy hardcore to hits , everything was represented.

At the time, Hit Clip was the only way for many television viewers to watch music videos. Due to the success of the music television broadcaster VIVA and MTV's focus on the German market, Hit Clip lost its importance and was discontinued.

From 1995 two music samplers with current titles from the show were released on music CDs.
