Hjalmar Borgstrøm

Hjalmar Borgstrøm (born March 23, 1864 in Kristiania (now Oslo ), † July 5, 1925 ibid) was a Norwegian music journalist and composer .

Borgstrøm was a student of Johan Svendsen and Ludvig Mathias Lindeman and studied at the Leipzig Conservatory . From 1901 he worked as a music journalist for various magazines in Oslo .

He composed two operas and two symphonies , several symphonic poems (including Hamlet and Tanken ), a piano and a violin concerto, string quartets and a piano quintet, violin sonatas, piano pieces and songs.
