Ho Kan

Ho Kan ( Chinese  霍 剛 , born July 23, 1932 in Nanjing, China , real Huo Hsueh-Kang ) is a Chinese conceptual artist .

Life

Huo Hsueh-Kan was accepted into the artistic branch of the Taipei School in 1950 and studied painting with Lee Chun-Shan. During his studies he joined the “ Ton Fan Group” and was also a member of the “Eight Great Outlaws”. He then traveled to Europe to study western art concepts and techniques. In particular, he devoted himself to calligraphy and stone inscriptions.

Back in China, Kan worked as a teacher at the Jingmei School and helped spread art teaching across the country. He later also trained art teachers in Taiwan. Ho Kan played an important role in the development of modern Chinese art history.
