Hobart Bay is a census-designated place in the panhandle of the US state Alaska . The Census 2000 census identified three residents in Hobart Bay. Thus Hobart Bay is one of the nine cities in the United States with only three residents each. In 1889 Lt. Commander Mansfield, a member of the United States Navy , gave Hobart Bay his name. The city initially functioned as a logging camp.
