Lona plateau
The Lona plateau lies at an altitude of approx. 2640 m above sea level. M. above Grimentz in the Val d'Anniviers in the canton of Valais , Switzerland . The plateau extends over an area of approx. 2 by 2 kilometers and is surrounded by the mountains Sasseneire , Diablon , Sex de Marinda , Pointe de Lona and Becs de Bosson . There are around 15 large and small mountain lakes on the plateau. The largest of them is called Lac de Lona . The Torrent de Lona drains the plateau.
Accesses
There are three paths leading to the Lona plateau. From Grimentz, the first path, which is only suitable for hikers, leads over the Bendolla mountain station, along the flank of the Pointe de Lona to the plateau. The second route, which is also very popular with mountain bikers, leads over the dam of Lac de Moiry and the Basset de Lona . From the Val d'Hérens , paths from Evolène and Saint-Martin lead down to the plateau via the Pas de Lona .
