Johan Arnold Zoutman (born May 10, 1724 in Reeuwijk (Netherlands), † May 7, 1793 in The Hague ) was a Dutch vice admiral .

During the British-Dutch War , which ran parallel to the American War of Independence , Zoutmann, then Rear Admiral, asserted himself against the British Royal Navy in the Battle of Dogger Bank (1781) , while all the other admirals supported the pro-British Orange Party and led the war only very negligently .

Zoutman was promoted to Vice Admiral. He and his officers received various honors, such as the newly created "Doggersbank Medal". A sum of money flowed to the lower ranks.

In 1798 the Zoutman fortress in Oranjestad on Aruba was named after him, and in Geertruidenberg a monument was erected to him in 1846.
