The 160 Park View (originally Westend Center , until 2016 Hochhaus am Park ) is a 96 meter high- rise in Frankfurt am Main .

history

It was built in 1975 by the Frankfurt architects ABB Architects and is located in the Westend-Nord district in the immediate vicinity of Grüneburg Park and the Westend campus. The development plan had provided for a four-storey development (corresponding to the development in the neighborhood). However, thanks to generous exemptions from the city, the building has 26 upper floors. The development plan was not adapted until the late 1970s. But the approved height was exceeded by more than six meters. The city had a construction freeze. In a settlement, the client Willi Göbel paid one million DM and was allowed to continue building. The next conflict arose over the number of parking spaces. In 1978 the property was up for foreclosure auction . However, no bidder was found.

It was not until 1985 that the house was completed, the glass facade and the name Hochhaus am Park . Allianz Lebensversicherung was now the new owner. An extensive renovation took place in the 1990s. It serves as an office building, u. a. for BDO and as the headquarters of the Hessian University of Cooperative Education , which was founded here in 1990.

In 2016, the project developer RFR acquired the vacant building. Currently (March 2019) and probably until the end of 2020, the building is undergoing major renovations. In the higher of the two parts of the building, 123 rental and owner-occupied apartments will be built, and a hotel in the lower.
