Energy distribution

On October 1, 2009, HochsauerlandEnergie GmbH began selling electricity for household and commercial customers, and from July 1, 2010, gas sales. On January 1, 2010, night power for users of night storage heating systems and heat pump power was added to the portfolio. All electricity sales offers are also available as green electricity offers certified with the “OK Power” seal. Energy networks

In December 2014, HochsauerlandEnergie GmbH and RWE Deutschland AG founded HochsauerlandNetze GmbH & Co. KG (HSN). HochsauerlandEnergie GmbH held the majority in the new company with 74.9 percent of the shares. RWE held the remaining 25.1 percent. On January 1, 2015, HochsauerlandNetze GmbH & Co. KG became the owner of the electricity networks in Meschede, Bestwig and Olsberg and the gas network in Meschede; the actual network operation continued to be carried out by Westnetz GmbH. On January 1, 2020, HochsauerlandEnergie acquired the remaining 25.1 percent of the shares in HochsauerlandNetze GmbH & Co. KG. The network will continue to be operated by Westnetz GmbH.
