The Nürtingen University of Art Therapy (HKT) was a private university of applied sciences in Nürtingen . She has been training art therapists since 1987 with state recognition and funding . The Foundation for Art and Art Therapy Nürtingen was the sponsor. In the summer semester of 2016, the Art Therapy University was integrated into the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Economics and Environment .

Education

With state recognition as a university of applied sciences for the art therapy course on June 1, 1987, HKT trained qualified art therapists until 2010. With the Bologna reform , there was a change from the diploma course to an eight-semester Bachelor course with a consecutive two-semester Master’s course. The monthly tuition fees were € 260 for the Bachelor and € 415 for the Master. A bachelor's degree in theater therapy was offered from the 2015/2016 winter semester . The University of Art Therapy was state-recognized from 1987 to 2016 and its courses were accredited.

Integration into the University of Economics and Environment

On March 21, 2016, the integration contract between the state of Baden-Württemberg , the Foundation for Art and Art Therapy Nürtingen and the University of Economics and Environment Nürtingen-Geislingen was signed. The courses of study at the University of Art Therapy were located at the then Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Environmental and Urban Planning (FLUS). The existence of the College of Art Therapy ends with the signing of the integration contract. The supporting foundation will continue to exist. The acronym “HKT” is retained and stands for “Higher Education Programs in Artistic Therapies” at the HfWU.
