Wedding planner
A wedding planner ( Engl. : Wedding planner ) has the task of a pair in the planning and organization of the wedding party to advise and assist.

At the wedding itself, he stands in the background and ensures that everything runs smoothly. The aim is for the couple to save a lot of time and effort in advance and to be able to concentrate on themselves and their guests on the wedding day.
The remuneration of a wedding planner can be based on the total budget of the party and in this case is in the range of 10 to 20 percent. As an alternative, however, the organization of sub-areas at fixed prices is also offered, such as the search for locations or “only” being present on the wedding day in order to keep the couple's back free.
The activity of the wedding planner is particularly widespread in the United States . In German-speaking countries, this activity and the use of a wedding planner are not a matter of course. Often there are concerns about the cost. A good wedding planner also takes care of the budget and often receives discounts from service partners, which a serious planner also passes on to his customers. He also does not organize over the customer's head, but ensures that the party also bears the couple's “personal stamp” and involves them as much or as little as they want.
Wedding planners are now also used when entering into registered partnerships .
education
Wedding planner is not a protected job title in Germany , there is also no recognized training occupation . The field of activity of the wedding planner is primarily assigned to the event industry - a good prerequisite for exercising this activity is therefore a degree in business administration with a specialization in event management or at least a professional training as an event manager . In addition, as a wedding planner, it is never wrong to have a basic knowledge of event technology (you usually act as an intermediary between bands / artists, technicians and the wedding couple - so you should at least be able to read a technical rider ) and not be afraid of going to the authorities (for example for a fireworks registration). Some chambers of commerce offer multi-day certificate courses for wedding planner (IHK) , Event Manager Wedding (IHK) or Wedding Planner (IHK) on.
Wedding planner in the media
The film Wedding Planner shows Jennifer Lopez in the role of a wedding planner; The wedding planner band Baaja Baaraat is a 2010 Bollywood film on a similar subject. A well-known German wedding planner is Frank Matthée , who became known through the reality show Sarah & Marc in Love , which was broadcast in 2005 . In 2006, the reality show Frank - Der Weddingplaner started on ProSieben , which again shows Matthée doing his job.
