Hoerschelmann (noble family)
Hoerschelmann , actually Horschelmann , Russian Гершельман = Gershelman, is the name of a middle-class family originally from Thuringia, from a branch in the 18th century to the Baltic States came there in 1838 and in 1843 the hereditary nobility Russian service received .
history
The family comes from the Hörselberge and traces its line of roots back to the Erfurt pastor and superintendent Johann Heinrich Hörschelmann (1704–1774). One of his sons, Ernst August Wilhelm Hoerschelmann (1743–1795), came to Estonia in 1768 , where he became the teacher and principal of what is now the Gustav-Adolf-Gymnasium in Reval . His brother Johann Heinrich Hörschelmann (1752–1798) followed him in 1782 and became a pastor in the parish of Fennern .
A branch founded by Ernst August's son Johann Wilhelm (1779–1831) entered Russian service . Descendants were u. a. the generals Konstantin Ivanowitsch Gerschelman and Sergei Konstantinowitsch Gerschelman .

The coat of arms is quartered . In the first and fourth fields in silver it shows a red stag , in the second and third fields in blue a golden sheaf placed obliquely to the left . A growing deer on the helmet . The helmet covers are blue and silver.
A Russian variant shows the golden sheaf in red in the second and third fields. The helmet covers are red-silver on the right and red-gold on the left.
