Hofebusch

The Hofebusch , also Hofbusch , is a forest area in Upper Lusatia . Its name is derived from the estate in Großschönau . The Hofebusch covers several elevations, including the White Stone , the Forstenberg and the Lindeberg .

Position and extent

The forest area is limited by the places Großschönau in the south, Varnsdorf in the west, Spitzkunnersdorf in the north and Hainewalde in the southeast. In earlier times the forest area extended much further south, where it was connected to the Lehnbusch in the west . In the course of the settlement of new buildings , however, large parts of the area were cleared to make space for new agricultural areas.

The area of the forest is part of the conservation area Mandautal and the Zittau Mountains Nature Park .

The Hofebusch is located at the southern end of the Seifhennersdorf basalt cover . The ground is riddled with weathered debris.
