The Hoffman Point is an ice-covered headland at the Hillary Coast of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It is located on the south side of the mouth of the Bertoglio Glacier in the Ross Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own tellurometer measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1965 after Commander George Lee Hoffman (1924–1983) of the US Navy, commander of the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Eight at McMurdo Station as part of Operation Deep Freeze in 1964.
