Coordinates: 50 ° 8 '52.5 ″  N , 8 ° 52 ′ 24.1 ″  E Hohe Tanne is a district of Hanau in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse and has about 560 inhabitants.

The settlement is part of the northwest district and is located on the northwestern outskirts 9 km from the city center in the middle of an extensive forest area. It mainly consists of representative villas with park-like properties and is one of the most sought-after addresses in the Brothers Grimm City. Not least because of the short distance of only 17 km to Frankfurt am Main . Hohe Tanne is directly adjacent to the Wilhelmsbad State Park with its former health resort, riding stables and golf course.

history

The Hohe Tanne originally belonged to the neighboring Wachenbuchen . As part of the garden city movement , the community council decided at the end of 1911 to build a settlement that was to be based on the previously built villa district in Buchschlag in the Offenbach district . In 1912, the government of the Hesse-Nassau province accepted the clearing of forest areas on the boundary near the Wilhelmsbad spa park near Hanau . In the autumn of 1912, construction work began on the first houses along Hochstädter Landstrasse, and the district then grew to the road connection between Wachenbuchen and Hanau.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the villa settlement Hohe Tanne was added to the city of Hanau in 1974.
