Hollow compass

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The hollow compass is a tool for measuring the inside diameter of hollow objects .

You can use a caliper with a hinge to do this, after you have turned its legs so that they point outwards. Or you give the thighs a suitable shape.

A small hollow compass , often precisely adjustable with an adjusting screw, combined with an external button and used in particular by watchmakers , is also called a dance master .
