The Hol Beck is a watercourse in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . It arises southeast of the Wansfell Pike and flows south to its confluence with the Windermere .
In its upper reaches, the Hol Beck is also known as the Skelghyll Beck . A 750 m section of the watercourse in this part is specially protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest . ( 54 ° 25 ′ 13.6 ″ N , 2 ° 55 ′ 57.7 ″ W ) The section is a well-known site for stratigraphy des Llandovery and is particularly rich in graptolite fossils.
