Holger Ansmann (born August 20, 1957 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German local and state politician (SPD) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life and work

Ansmann went to school in Wilhelmshaven. First he attended the Nogatschule in the Wilhelmshaven district of Fedderwardergroden , then he went to the Max Planck Gymnasium on Mühlenweg. After leaving school, he began a commercial apprenticeship at the Olympia-Werke in Roffhausen , where he took on tasks in youth representation and in the works council at an early stage .

From the mid-1980s, the bad economic news about AEG Olympia AG increased. After years of losses, the corporate headquarters of the parent companies AEG and Daimler-Benz decided in October 1991 to withdraw from office communication and to close the location with its workforce of around 3,600. As chairman of the Olympic works council , Ansmann was in charge of the “battle of the Olympians” to keep their jobs.

Under the motto “Olympia - the heart of the region must live on”, a labor dispute of the Olympic employees that was noticed nationwide followed over the next few months to keep their jobs. Campaigns in Wilhelmshaven, Frankfurt and Stuttgart reminded of the responsibility of the Daimler-Benz group and increased public pressure to create replacement jobs in the Wilhelmshaven / Friesland region. Nevertheless, the closure of the location in Roffhausen at the end of 1992 could not be prevented. As a positive result of the labor dispute, the development of the concept for a TCN (Technologie Centrum Nordwest) took place, which provided for the outsourcing and continuation of operational parts of the Olympia as independent companies as well as the settlement of new companies on the grounds of the TCN. The concept received support from the state government of Lower Saxony, the parent company Daimler-Benz, the district of Friesland , the city of Schortens and the employee representatives.

Ansmann is considered to be one of the "fathers" of the concept and was hired by the Lower Saxony state government under Prime Minister Gerhard Schröder for the area of company settlement. As managing director of TCN-Marketing GmbH , he continued to accompany the concept from then on.

At the beginning of 1993 the TCN had 14 companies with around 750 employees. In 2012 there were already 63 companies with around 2,600 employees.

Ansmann is married to a woman from Wilhelmshaven.

politics

Holger Ansmann has been a member of the SPD since the late 1980s . He was a member of the local youth committee, the local administration and 2nd authorized representative of IG-Metall , administrative office Wilhelmshaven.

In March 2012, Ansmann was nominated by the Wilhelmshaven SPD as a direct candidate for the state election to the Lower Saxony state parliament in the Wilhelmshaven constituency. In the state elections on January 20, 2013, he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Wilhelmshaven just before the CDU candidate Jörn Felbier. 406 more votes were enough. After ten years, Ansmann brought the Wilhelmshaven constituency back directly for the SPD.

In February 2013 he was elected Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs, Women, Family, Health and Migration in the Lower Saxony State Parliament. He is also a member of the Ports and Shipping Subcommittee.
