Holger Halthof (born November 18, 1953 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Halthof played in the youth of TSG Schönkirchen , where he drew attention to himself through his performance and was invited to DFB viewing courses. Although he did not play a game in the DFB dress, he was signed for the A youth team of Hamburger SV . Halthof made the leap into the Bundesliga team, but only made a brief assignment in the 1972/73 season , from the 87th minute of play against Hannover 96 . The game ended 3-2 for Hannover. Since he could not prevail at HSV, he moved to Holstein Kiel , where he scored eight goals in 24 games in the Regionalliga. He then played for three years in the national league at Heikendorfer SV . From the 1977/78 season he went back on the hunt for goals for Kiel, with whom he made promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the second division year he played 31 games in the northern season for the "Storks" in which he scored eight goals. Since Halthof had persistent knee problems despite several operations, he then played exclusively in the amateur area for VfR Neumünster and VfR Laboe.
