Holger Horz

Holger Horz (born June 25, 1968 in Limburg / Lahn ) is a German psychologist and professor of educational psychology (unit "Teaching and learning in adulthood") at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In addition, he has been Managing Director of the Academy for Educational Research and Teacher Training at Goethe University since 2015 and head of the Interdisciplinary College for University Didactics since 2011.

Life

Horz obtained a diploma in psychology from the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 1997 . He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Mannheim , where he received his doctorate in 2004 on the subject of computer-aided teaching and learning. After a job at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald , Holger Horz worked as a research assistant at the University of Koblenz-Landau . There he completed his habilitation in 2008 with the title “Blended Learning”. In the same year he was offered a professorship for applied psychology at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). Since 2010 he has been Professor of Educational Psychology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt , where he heads the work unit “Learning and Teaching in Adulthood”. In his research, Holger Horz is primarily concerned with the subject of lifelong learning, especially for school and university teachers. In addition, one of his research focuses is on competencies in dealing with digital media . He leads several interdisciplinary, larger collaborative research projects on these topics. In his function as a board member of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs), he organized the congress of the DGPs 2018 in Frankfurt as congress president together with Johannes Hartig.
