Holger Matthies

Holger Matthies (born May 26, 1940 in Hamburg-Horn ) is a German graphic artist and modern poster maker. He is best known as a designer of theater posters , but also designed political posters for the Greens in the 1980s .

"The international reputation of Holger Matthies is based primarily on his metaphorical inventions of images and surreal object staging, which make a sudden impression even without many words". ( Museum of Labor , Hamburg).

Holger Matthies lives and works in Hamburg and has been a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg since 2010 .
