Holger Pfaff

Holger Pfaff (born May 15, 1956 in Schramberg ) is a German sociologist .

Pfaff studied social and administrative sciences at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg , the University of Konstanz and the University of Michigan , Ann Arbor . After working as a research assistant and university assistant at the University of Oldenburg and the TU Berlin , he took over the professorship for medical sociology at the University of Cologne in 1997 . In 2012 Pfaff took over as director of the newly established Institute for Medical Sociology, Health Services Research and Rehabilitation Science .

Pfaff was chairman of the German Society for Medical Sociology (DGMS) from 2002 to 2010 . Since 2012 he has been the deputy chairman of the German Network for Health Services Research . In 2016 he was elected chairman of the expert advisory board of the innovation committee for the innovation fund.
