Holger Schaeben (born December 2, 1958 in Hilden ) is a German author .

Life

Holger Schaeben grew up in Düsseldorf as the second child of a working-class family. He has been working as a freelance author and ghostwriter since 1996 . He lives in Salzburg with his wife and son. He completed his school years in 1978 with the Abitur at the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Monheim am Rhein . After his military service he studied at the West German Academy for Communication in Cologne .

From 1983 onwards, Schaeben initially worked as a copywriter in international advertising agencies . He also wrote short stories , essays and prose . Early trips to France, Italy and Spain inspired his short stories, which he finally wrote in 2015 under the title »Sea. Young. Frau «, published by the Zurich Offizin Verlag.

Schaeben has been living from free writing since 1996. He writes prose, factual texts, glosses. He developed a preference for documentary literature. He last used the technique of montage from fact and fiction in his documentary novel "The Devil's Son", in which he tells the story of Walter Chmielewski, the son of the Gusen concentration camp commandant .
