Holger VO Dieterich

Holger Veit Otto Dieterich (* 1948 in Schopfheim ) is a German gynecologist , senologist and breast surgeon. His research focuses on molecular biological prognostic factors for the individualization of systemic therapies for breast cancer and his tactical pioneering work in the further development of oncoplastic operations in the primary therapy of breast cancer . He was chief physician and medical director of the private gynecological clinic and breast center in Rheinfelden (Baden) and is a founding and honorary member of the working group for reconstructive surgical procedures in gynecology (AWOgyn).

Live and act

Dieterich obtained his Abitur in 1966 at the high school in Rheinfelden / Baden. After studying medicine at the Universities of Bonn , Kiel and Freiburg , he passed the state examination in 1972 at the University of Freiburg i.Br. from. The general surgical and gynecological-senological training took place from 1973 to 1983 in Liestal / CH, Bonn, Düsseldorf and most recently at the University Women's Clinic Basel / CH as a senior physician at Käser. In 1973 he received the doctoral certificate from the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg i.Br. on the topic: "Current questions on the physiological and pathological amino acid excretion in the urine (with special consideration of childhood liver diseases)"

He is a pioneer of so-called oncoplastic operations in gynecology and headed the private gynecological clinic in Rheinfelden / Baden as chief physician and medical director until 2012. He was co-founder of numerous scientific societies and from 2004 to 2008 chairman of the working group for plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive operations in gynecology ( AWO-Gyn), of which he is a co-founder and honorary member.
