Holiday '80 is the second EP from British synth-pop band The Human League .
Emergence
The EP was recorded in the cast of Philip Oakey , Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware and produced with John Leckie , who also worked for Simple Minds . With the instrumental piece Dancevision it contains one of the oldest tracks of the band from 1977, which was recorded in November of this year in Sheffield with a two-track recorder from Ware and Marsh as The Future . The other recordings were made in February 1980 on an eight-track recorder in Sheffield, including the new recording of the single Being Boiled on the Travelogue album .
The EP was released by Travelogue a month before it was released and gave the band its first appearance on the British television show Top of the Pops , where The Human League presented an electronic version of Gary Glitter's rock 'n' roll (Part 1) . The EP reached number 56 in Great Britain - a re-release after the band's line-up reached number 46 in 1982. In addition to their own songs Marianne and Being Boiled, they played rock 'n' roll ( Gary Glitter / Mike Leander ) and nightclubbing ( Jim Osterberg / David Bowie ) contain two cover songs.
