The Hollywood Candy Company or Hollywood Brands was an American candy company from Hollywood, Minnesota , founded by Frank Martoccio in 1912 .

history

Hollywood Candy Company was founded in 1912 by Frank Martoccio in Hollywood, Minnesota as the Martoccio Macaroni Company. In 1927 the Pendergast Candy Company of Minneapolis was bought and in 1933 both were renamed the Hollywood Candy Company. The Pendergast Candy Company developed a process to produce airy candy cream which was then copied by Frank C. Mars for the Milky Way . In 1938 the company moved its headquarters to Centralia, Illinois . In 1967 the company was bought by Sara Lee , in 1988 the Hollywood Brands brand acquired the Leaf company . In 1996, the Hershey Company acquired the brand and fully integrated it into the company.
