Home Riggs Popham
Sir Home Riggs Popham (born October 12, 1762 in Gibraltar , † September 2, 1820 in Cheltenham ) was a British commander of the Royal Navy during the Coalition Wars, for which he developed a signal code in 1803. He was elected to the Royal Society in 1799 .
