Karl Trotsche

Karl Trotsche (born December 3, 1862 in Kassebohm ; † March 18, 1920 in Bülow (near Crivitz) ; also Karl Trotsche-Schwerin , pseudonym Karl Schwerin ) was a German farmer and writer.

Life

Karl Trotsche was born as the son of a Mecklenburg landowner in Kassebohm (today part of Rostock ). He spent his childhood in Alt Falkenhagen near Waren (Müritz) , attended the large city school in Rostock and then completed an agricultural apprenticeship. In the following years he worked as an economist and estate manager in agriculture in Klein Tessin , 1900 in Bülow near Crivitz and Klein Görnow . During the March riots of 1920 he was shot by insurgents.

Works

Trotsche wrote several works of fiction, some of them autobiographically colored, which were distributed in large editions over three decades:

  • Sons of the plaice. (1913. More than 14 editions until 1952.)
  • My friend Enoch. Thematizes the friendship of the author, friendship with Vollrath Lübbe in Klein Lunow
  • My three skirts. Autobiographical narrative.
  • Wild roses and broken oaks. (1901. More than 11 editions until 1942.)
  • Selected stories. (1953)
